Picralima is a plant genus in the family Apocynaceae. It was first described as a genus in 1896 and contains only one known species, Picralima nitida. It is native to tropical Africa (Benin, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Gabon, Cameroon, Cabinda, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Zaire, Uganda). We offer dried seed from Africa.
The seeds usually have a high germination rate but we've dried them because it makes it suceptible to mold. Before planting, be sure to re-hydrate the seeds by soaking them in water.
Its a rare, ornamental shrub that can reach a height of 35 metres, but is usually less
Sow seed in moist but well-drained soil and keep warm. Germination should be expected within two to six weeks. Picralima nitida is drought and frost tender.
